Jo Fuchs Luscombe: “Don’t Be Afraid to Take the Risk.”
Women’s advocate talks to WTNH about her lifelong quest to make a difference.
Meadow Ridge resident Jo Fuchs Luscombe, 89, has spent her life empowering women to make a difference in a world that hasn’t always seen them as equals.
“We have to go the extra mile to prove ourselves and to be seen, to be heard, to be accepted,” Jo says.
A Texas native, she moved to Westport in 1969 and was active in the Westport community. She was a member of the Women’s Club and served on the boards of several non-profits.
A proponent of women in government, Jo served as a Connecticut State Representative for a decade.
Her words of advice for other women? “Don’t be afraid to take the risk.”
Jo was recently interviewed by News 12 Connecticut.
