At Meadow Ridge, camaraderie and wellness go hand in hand—and this past September, that spirit came alive during the community’s inaugural Neighborhood Challenge, a monthlong celebration of health, teamwork and community pride.

A Healthy Dose of Friendly Rivalry

Residents from across the community joined forces in three spirited teams—the Laurel Legends, the Maple Mavericks and the Spruce Spartans—each representing a Meadow Ridge neighborhood. Throughout September, participants tracked their workouts and encouraged one another to stay active through fitness classes, outdoor walks and on-campus programs.

By the end of the month, all three teams had achieved remarkable results:

  • The Laurel Legends: 318 workouts

  • The Maple Mavericks: 307 workouts

  • The Spruce Spartans: 301 workouts

With a strong finish, the Laurel Legends claimed the title of 2025 Neighborhood Challenge Champions, earning bragging rights, a trophy and a feature spot in the Meadow Ridge Fitness Center.

A Record-Breaking Achievement

The excitement extended far beyond the competition. Residents’ enthusiasm for staying active led to a significant community milestone.

“Congratulations to our three neighborhoods for exceptional commitment to thrive in 2025,” said Fitness Manager Jaime Silverman. “Your dedication has resulted in a remarkable 20% increase in class visits, making September the highest number of class visits ever recorded at Meadow Ridge.”

The monthlong challenge not only encouraged participation but also strengthened bonds among neighbors and highlighted Meadow Ridge’s dedication to holistic wellness.

Purposeful living at the height of senior living

The Neighborhood Challenge perfectly captured the Meadow Ridge philosophy—offering purposeful programming, resident-led initiatives and wellness-centered experiences designed to support every individual’s mind, body and spirit.

From the indoor saltwater pool and state-of-the-art Ridge Range golf simulator to yoga, Pilates and balance classes, residents enjoy a diverse fitness experience that inspires confidence and connection.

“We’re already planning strategies for next year,” one resident said with a smile. “It’s about fun, friendship and feeling great together.”

Celebrating Community Spirit

As the first Neighborhood Challenge concluded, it was clear that Meadow Ridge had sparked a new annual tradition—one that blends health, camaraderie and joyful living.

The Laurel Legends may have taken home the trophy, but the real victory belongs to everyone who participated, proving that at Meadow Ridge, every day offers a new opportunity to thrive at the height of senior living.
