Meadow Ridge Donates $12.5K to Georgetown Fire
As a proud and engaged member of the Redding community, Meadow Ridge recently welcomed the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company (GVFC) to our campus for a meet and greet and a special donation. This $12,500 gift is an investment in the GVFC, helping the department update essential equipment and firefighting gear that supports residents and neighbors alike.
“We believe strongly in supporting the honorable mission of the department and wanted to express our gratitude for their important contributions to our community,” said Meadow Ridge Chief Financial Officer Mark Gapski. “Welcoming them to our community on a gorgeous fall day was a great way for our residents to share their appreciation for the volunteer firefighters and EMTs who are, in many ways, an extension of the Meadow Ridge team.”
A Hands-On Experience for Residents and Associates
The GVFC brought several pieces of equipment for residents and associates to explore, offering a closer look at the tools and vehicles that support emergency response. “We wanted the residents and associates at Meadow Ridge to get to know us outside of the calls we respond to,” said GVFC Chief Don Baker. “This donation will help us stay current with the technology to deliver the best services to not only Meadow Ridge but the greater community.”
Dedicated Service to Redding and Beyond
The GVFC operates nine pieces of equipment, including two engines and two ambulances, and provides fire and emergency medical services to portions of Redding, Wilton and Weston.
Gratitude from the Meadow Ridge Community
“We were delighted to spend time with our neighbors from Georgetown Fire and were impressed by their skill and expertise,” said resident Carol Morgan. “They are a vital resource in the community and I think we all have greater peace of mind knowing they are only a call away.”
