Redding, Conn. — Meadow Ridge, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Redding, Conn., has once again been named one of the best senior living communities in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Senior Living list for 2023. Meadow Ridge was awarded for its Independent Living and Memory Care neighborhoods. Its Assisted Living neighorhood was also recognized.

In being selected as one of the best senior living communities, Meadow Ridge demonstrated excellence in safety, value, activities & enrichment and staff & hospitality, among other attributes.

Surrounded by scenic Connecticut countryside on a beautiful hilltop in Redding, Meadow Ridge is a CCRC offering a distinctive lifestyle, with refinements such as well-appointed apartment homes, gourmet cuisine, impeccable service and exquisite amenities. Meadow Ridge provides a full continuum of care for those who need it, when they need it. The community includes neighborhoods that offer various levels of care, such as Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and an award-winning Sub-Acute Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing center, Ridge Crest.

“We are thrilled for Meadow Ridge to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report for our Independent Living and Memory Care neighborhoods. Meadow Ridge truly is a special community, where associates and residents value, respect and genuinely care for each other,” said Executive Director Chris Barstein. “While it’s an honor to be recognized, it is a greater privilege to come to work here every day and make a difference in the lives of others.”

In compiling its list, U.S. News & World Report analyzed survey data from nearly 4,000 senior living communities across the nation. For the 2023 Best Senior Living edition, the publication analyzed 180 resident and family member surveys to determine what sets Meadow Ridge apart. Residents shared feedback such as, “Meadow Ridge is a welcoming community with a wide range of activities offered for residents. The staff is exceptionally positive. It is a wonderful place to live,” and “This is the best CCRC in the business. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.”

Meadow Ridge, part of Benchmark Senior Living, has repeatedly been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for a variety of categories and was awarded last year for excellence in Independent Living. It has also been previously recognized for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation care.

Forty Benchmark communities throughout the Northeast received a total of 53 U.S. News awards for the second straight year, far outpacing the industry average for achieving “Best” status.

“We are honored and humbled that our residents and their families once again recognized the hard work, compassion and dedication of our 6,000-plus associates. It’s their shared purpose of transforming lives through human connection that earned Benchmark these U.S. News & World Report awards and that continues to separate Benchmark communities from other senior living companies,” said Tom Grape, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Benchmark.
