Jillian Andrew’s from Connecticut’s Morning Buzz on WTNH recently spotlighted the exciting renovations at Ridge Crest, highlighting completed upgrades such as an expanded therapy gym and new doctor’s suite.

Rehabilitation Services Enhanced Through Renovations

Ridge Crest, the skilled nursing and rehabilitation neighborhood within our community, has undergone exciting renovations with more improvements on the way!

“Residents who have started here independently and have moved through the continuum of care and should their needs get to a level where they can, they’re going to require 24 hour medical care and nursing care. That’s what Ridge Crest is for,” Chris Barstein, campus executive director said.

Phase One is Complete

Ridge Crest has 62-beds that are also open to the public for Short-Term Rehabilitation. The renovations have been broken into three phases. Phase one is already complete and includes the following:

  • Expanded Therapy Gym
  • Tailored Kitchen for Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Outpatient Therapy Services
  • New Doctor’s Suite
  • Refreshed Lobby

Renovations are Overwhelmingly Positive

Brian Gallo, an occupational therapy assistant and the director of rehabilitation for Ridge Crest said the renovations are overwhelming in a positive way.

“There’s a ton of equipment here. We have recumbent bikes. We have a standing frame. We have a virtual reality system, which we’re going to kick off in the future. We’ve increased the weights, the free weights, the parallel bars and the list goes on and on,” Gallo said.

Phases two and three will focus on community spaces and patient rooms. These enhancements will improve life for residents and for the family and friends that come to visit during their stay.
