Sheila Deslaurier

Having an opportunity to give back to generations that gave so much is why Ridge Crest’s Therapeutic Recreation Director Sheila Deslaurier chose to work in senior living.

“They are our living history and the embodiment of enduring change and handling adversity,” she says. “They deserve our reverence and compassionate care.”

Sheila has worked with seniors for more than 25 years. Her passion, she says, is “creating an atmosphere of respect, compassion, personal expression and growth for the individuals who live and work here.”

She is a certified yoga teacher and health coach with many years of experience in holistic healthcare. At Ridge Crest, she organizes and directs the recreation services that motivate, stimulate, restore abilities and improve the quality of life for Ridge Crest residents. She also supervises, trains and motivates team members.

Sheila says her favorite thing about her job is “witnessing the thing that truly moves someone and being present while they become hopeful, joyful, inspired, fully engaged and alive.”

In her spare time, Sheila enjoys spending time outdoors exploring local rail trails. She also is an avid cook.
